The app works entirely without creating user accounts, login, or tracking identifiers. We do not use third‑party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services.
On-device settings only
The app stores a few preferences locally on your device using iOS features like AppStorage/UserDefaults, such as:
- Dark mode preference
- Sound effects preference
- Notifications enabled/disabled state
- Parental controls enabled state, and a hashed parental code with a random salt
- Quiz progress counters
These values stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
Purchases processed by Apple
If you choose to make an in‑app purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive your payment details. Apple may process data related to your purchase as described in Apple’s privacy policy.
3. How We Use Data
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to use. On‑device settings are used solely to provide app functionality on your device (for example, remembering your preferences or parental control lock).
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share personal data because we do not collect it. Purchases are handled by Apple. If required by law, we may disclose information strictly necessary to comply with legal obligations.
5. Data Security
On‑device preferences (including the parental code hash and salt) are stored using iOS system storage. We do not transmit these values to any server. While no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, we do not maintain backend databases containing your personal data.
6. Children’s Privacy
This app is suitable for all ages and is designed to minimize data collection. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parental controls are available and protected using a locally stored salted hash of a 4‑digit code.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will address the issue; however, the app does not include mechanisms to submit such information to us.
7. Your Choices
- You can change app preferences (dark mode, sounds, notifications) in Settings within the app or device settings.
- You can enable/disable local notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
- You can reset parental controls by disabling them in the app; this clears the stored hash and salt from your device.
8. Web Content and External Links
The app may open external web content (e.g., Wikipedia pages) in a web view or your browser for educational information. Those third‑party sites may collect data per their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third‑party practices.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements. Updates will be posted in the app. Your continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance.
